ISP Traffic Stop & ISP K9 Drogos Lead Troopers to Meth & Felony Arrests
Nashville - Indiana State Troopers assigned to The Bloomington District A.C.E.S. (Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Section) conducted patrols in rural Brown County last night in conjunction with the Bike Fest happening in the area. During the patrol, Trp. Riley Nungester conducted a traffic stop along State Road 135 near Old Settlers Road north of Nashville. During the course of the traffic stop, reasonable suspicion was developed that indicated probable cause for drug activity. Trp. Allen Deel and his K-9 partner Drogos alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle as they assisted with the stop. A subsequent search by troopers revealed a large quantity of methamphetamine, syringes used to inject narcotics and other drug paraphernalia.
Troopers arrested both the driver, Jenny Lazado, 25, of Morgantown and her passenger, Steven Sullivan, 48, of Decatur, Indiana. Both were charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of hypodermic syringes, and possession of paraphernalia.
Both were transported to and incarcerated at the Brown County Jail. Indiana Conservation Officers assisted with this investigation.
The Indiana State Police remain focused on investigating drug offenses and conducting dedicated patrols in an effort to detect drug use and dealing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Indiana State Police (Bloomington Post) at 812-332-4411 or 1-800-423-1286.
