Scott County reports a Sikeston man arrested for Assault of a Law Enforcement Officer and Resisting Arrest.

BENTON, MISSOURI - Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter reports a Sikeston, Missouri man arrested for Assault of a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting Arrest, and Property Damage.

Rickey E. Tucker (41) of 83 Rainbow Lake Road, Sikeston, Missouri has been charged with three counts of the Class C Felony of Assault on Law Enforcement Officer, the Class D Felony of Resisting Arrest, and Class B Misdemeanor of Property Damage.

Sheriff Walter states that on Sunday, September 13, 2015 the Sheriff’s Office, along with assistance from Miner Police Department, responded to a domestic assault in progress at 83 Rainbow Lake Road, Sikeston. Deputies and officers arrived and began speaking with Tucker outside. A deputy went to walk past Tucker to speak with another deputy, who he believed was inside the residence.

Tucker refused to let the deputy past him. Tucker elbowed the deputy in the chest and pushed the deputy against the residence. Tucker kept striking the deputy in the chest with his elbow.

The deputy was able to place Tucker on the ground to gain control of him. Tucker resisted and would not put his hands behind his back. Tucker was tased and placed in handcuffs. Tucker was being escorted to a patrol vehicle when Tucker tried to pull away. Tucker was placed under control again. Tucker then head butted a Miner Police Officer on the left temple. Tucker kept resisting and was taken to the ground and while doing so, injured the Miner Police Officer’s shoulder. Tucker was placed in a patrol vehicle.

During the altercation, a deputy sustained injuries to his left shin, knee, and right calf. Another deputy received injuries to his elbow and knee. Tucker damaged a deputy’s uniform while resisting also.

Tucker was placed under arrest. He was transported, by a deputy, to Missouri Delta Medical Center for chest pain. At the hospital, Tucker attempted to bite a deputy. Tucker made threats he was going to have the deputy’s family killed.

Tucker was transported to the Scott County jail after he was cleared by medical staff. Tucker was booked pending the filing of formal charges by the Scott County Prosecuting Attorney.

Tucker remains in custody at the Scott County Jail. Bond was set by the court at $10,000.00 cash only.
