Two Washington County Men Arrested for Child Molesting
Washington County-Back in February of this year, Detective Rachel Abbott from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg was contacted by the Washington County Department of Child Services about an allegation of child molestation that had allegedly occurred in Washington County.
Detective Abbott began an investigation that centered on two men from Washington County. The two men, Derek Medlock, 36, of South Green Mill Road in Hardinsburg and Matthew Mattingly, 30, from West Second Street in Campbellsburg were accused of allegedly molesting the same young child in the Campbellsburg area.
Detective Abbott worked with the Washington County Department of Child Services to investigate the allegations and on yesterday’s date in the afternoon hours she was able to arrest the two on arrest warrants issued out of the Washington County Court System.
Matthew Mattingly was arrested on an arrest warrant for Child Molesting, Level 4 Felony and was incarcerated at the Washington County Jail. Derek Medlock was served an arrest warrant for Child Molesting, Level Four Felony. Derek Medlock was already incarcerated at the Washington County Jail on unrelated charges.
