On 9-12-15, at approximately 1:42AM, the Burlington Police Department responded to a report of a Burglary / Assault and Robbery that had just occurred in the area of North Champlain and Poplar St. Investigation revealed that a male was assaulted in his apartment by several males and that marijuana had been taken from the residence.
Several witnesses in the area provided a vehicle description, to include a Vermont registration, of a vehicle believed to be involved in the incident. Detectives from the Burlington Police Department, with assistance from the Winooski Police Department, located the suspect vehicle on Franklin St. in Winooski.
Detectives executed multiple search warrants and ultimately obtained evidence to arrest Mohamed Maalim and Luhizo Luhizo for Burglary and Accessory to Assault and Robbery. Both subjects were taken into custody without incident and are being lodged at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility.
