Scott and Jackson Counties- In the afternoon hours of yesterday’s date, the Seymour City Police Department contacted the Indiana State Police at Sellersburg requesting our troopers to be on the lookout for a Red Chevrolet Cavalier with a female driving. The driver was suspected of stealing items out of the Orscheln Farm and Home Store in Seymour and was heading to the Scott County area.
At approximately 2:40 pm, trooper Tracy Spencer from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg saw a vehicle matching the description given by the Seymour City Police Department on Pearl in Austin. Trooper Spencer made a traffic stop on the vehicle and the driver, identified as Angela D. Couch, 36, of Pearl Street in Austin. During the traffic stop and resulting conversation trooper Spencer was able to recover a pair of Carhart pants and a hammock taken from the store.
The stolen items were returned to the Orscheln Farm and Home Store and Angela D. Couch was incarcerated at the Jackson County Jail on the charge of Theft.
