Building high pressure and developing offshore flow will lead to above normal temperatures this weekend. A warming trend will start today with sunny skies and highs in the 70s and 80s. More significant warming will occur this weekend with Sunday being the hottest day.

Temperatures on Saturday will be well into the 80s and 90s across much of the Bay Area. Hot weather will peak on Sunday with 80s near the Coast and 90s to lower 100s inland.

Persons sensitive to heat such as the elderly and those on certain medications should plan accordingly and put a plan in place now to prepare for the upcoming hot weather. Anyone working outdoors or planning outdoor activities should drink plenty of fluids and schedule activities early or late in the day if possible. Also remember, children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles!

Fire danger will rise rapidly. Do not use mechanized or powered equipment in or near dry vegetation. Ensure that your property has a minimum of 30 feet of defensible space around it.
