UPDATE - Suspect Sought in Homicide Investigation
Corona, CA–On September 17, 2015 at approximately 6:35 p.m., the Corona Police Dispatch received a call of a male not breathing at a residence in the 1000 block of Winthrop Drive, Corona. Upon arrival, officers located three male victims at the location. Michael Martin (64 yrs. of Corona) and Barry Swanson (62 yrs. of Riverside) were deceased at the location. Ricky Lee Anderson (51 yrs. of Corona) was found with life threatening injuries and taken to an area hospital where he remains on life support.
On September 18, 2015, officers located a truck that was taken from the scene the night before. After a short vehicle pursuit, the suspect, Brandon Willie Martin (22 yrs. of Corona) ran from the truck and hid himself in a back yard of a house in the 800 block of Derby St., Corona. Martin was apprehended with the use of a police K-9 team.
Victim Michael Martin is Brandon’s father. Victim Barry Swanson is a sub-contractor for ADT security and was at the home on Winthrop Drive at the time of the original incident. Ricky Anderson is Brandon’s uncle. Area schools were on lock-down for a brief period of time while police searched the immediate area near the schools.
