High pressure and weak offshore flow will lead to near record heat today. Highs today will be in the 80s near the Coast and 90s to lower 100s inland.
Persons sensitive to heat such as the elderly and those on certain medications should plan accordingly and put a plan in place now to prepare for the upcoming hot weather. Anyone working outdoors or planning outdoor activities should drink plenty of fluids and schedule activities early or late in the day if possible. Also remember, children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles!
Fire danger is extreme. Be extra cautious with BBQ's and fire pits. Do not use power tools in or near dry vegetation.
