Press Release: NPD #1500-3924 Burglary Investigation & Arrest (20657 Summitt Road, noblesville) 9.27.15
On September 27, 2015 at approximately 12:55 a.m., police officers from the Noblesville Police Department responded to a report of a burglary at the address of 20657 Summitt Road (Noblesville). Officers arrived on the scene a short time later and began to investigate.
Initial information from the complainant (homeowner) alleges that upon returning to his home, he discovered a subject inside his vehicle which was parked inside his garage. The complainant told police that the subject brandished a handgun when he was confronted by the complainant. The subject then reportedly fled the scene on foot and the complainant gave chase. Preliminary information suggests that a physical confrontation took place a short time later about two (2) blocks away in the 5400 block of Kelly Anne Way (Noblesville). During the struggle, the complainant alleges that he was able to wrestle the gun away from the subject. Shortly thereafter, the complainant reported that the subject fled again at which time the complainant reported that he (complainant) fired several shots from the subject’s gun.
At approximately 1:19 a.m., NPD officers located the subject a short distance away in the 20400 block of Country Lake Boulevard (Noblesville). The subject is identified as Peyton K. Tonning, 19, of Noblesville, IN. Tonning was taken into custody without incident and he reported no injuries from the gunfire. Tonning was questioned by investigators and later transported to the Hamilton County Jail and booked on the preliminary charges of:
