The Yolo County Sheriff’s Office has been advised that citizens are receiving phone calls from individuals who are representing themselves as employees with our agency. The caller tells the citizen a warrant has been issued for their arrest for failure to appear for jury duty. The caller then requests money from the citizen to ‘pay the fine’ and have the warrant recalled.
The Yolo County Sheriff’s Office will never call and solicit money for fines.
Never give your personal information to anyone over the phone. If you receive a suspicious phone call please contact the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office or your local law enforcement agency.
