PRESS RELEASE
On September 26, 2015 at approximately 10:57 p.m., police officers and firefighters from the Noblesville Police & Fire Departments responded to the intersection of 156th Street and Boden Road (Noblesville) in reference to a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a car and a motorcycle. Officers and firefighters arrived on the scene a short time later and began to investigate.
Based on witness statements and evidence at the scene, it appears that a 2012 Honda Civic was traveling westbound on 156th Street when it pulled out into the path of a 2003 Kawasaki motorcycle that was traveling southbound on Boden Road. At this particular intersection, 156th Street is regulated by stop signs and Boden Road traffic has none.
The driver of the Honda was identified as Andy C. Coy, 18, from Fishers, IN. The driver was transported by ground ambulance to St. Vincent (Fishers). The front seat passenger, 17-year-old from Noblesville, was also transported by ground ambulance to St. Vincent (Fishers). Both front seat occupants appeared to suffer minor injuries. A third passenger, 16-year-old from Fishers, was treated and released at the scene.
The identity of the driver of the Kawasaki motorcycle is being withheld at this time pending family notification(s). The driver was transported by ground ambulance to I.U. Health Methodist (Indianapolis). The condition of the driver was characterized as “critical” at the time of this release. There were no additional occupants on the motorcycle. A helmet was located at the scene of the crash but investigators have been unable to conclude if it was being worn prior to the crash.
Investigators from the NPD Accident Reconstruction Unit were summons to the scene to collect evidence and gather information. As a result of the investigation, the intersection of 156th Street and Boden Road was either restricted and/or closed until 3:00am.
Intoxication has not been ruled out as a contributing factor in the crash.
This remains an ongoing investigation and further details will be released as they become available.
