Madison Woman Arrested After Fleeing from Officers
Jefferson County-On Wednesday September 30, the Indiana State Police arrested Amanda J. Williams, 26, Madison, after fleeing from officers in Madison, Indiana.
At approximately 2:45 PM, Trp. Andrew Garrett and other law enforcement agencies responded to the area of 2nd Street and Madison Street in Madison reference a disturbance. During the investigation, it was determined that a female involved in the disturbance, Amanda Williams, had two warrants for her arrest out of Johnson County, Indiana and had left the scene prior to officers arriving.
At approximately 4:00 PM, officers observed Ms. Williams walking along Main Street in Madison. Ms. Williams then fled from officers on foot into a wooded area. Approximately an hour later, Ms. Williams was located and taken into custody near the intersection of Cragmont Street and 3rd Street in Madison without further incident.
Trp. Garrett transported Ms. Williams to the Jefferson County Jail. Ms. Williams was charged with resisting law enforcement, obstruction of justice, as well as the warrants for possession of methamphetamine and resisting law enforcement out of Johnson County, Indiana.

Trp. Garrett was assisted by the Indiana State Parole Department, Indiana State Police Excise, Madison Police Department, and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.
