Precautionary Update: From the Mayor 10/2/2015 1300hrs
As of now it appears we will only be dealing with the effects of the Nor Eastor. All other weather concerns have been downgraded at this time. High surf advisory on the south shore until 6pm with 5’ to 8’ breaking waves with some minor coastal erosion. Gale force winds in effect until 6pm Sunday. Ferries will remain running until 4:45pm Saturday with suspended service on Sunday. Normal Ferry service expected to return Monday 7am. All other ferry inquiries should be made to the Fire Island Ferry Company or through their website at FireIslandFerries.Com. Anyone coming over to the beach this weekend are expected to have proper footwear. Expect flooding with minor debris floating around.
