Detectives Investigating Attempted Abduction of Teen


The Arlington Police Department was notified of a possible abduction attempt earlier this evening on Wednesday, September 30, 2015. A teenage girl reported that she was jogging in the 2500 block of Gilbert Circle around 6:15 p.m. She said that she was approached by two men who were occupying a dark blue SUV. The teen reported that the first three letters of a license plate possibly contained "CW8."

The teen reported that one of the men who was driving the SUV exited the vehicle and told her to get inside the vehicle and attempted to grab her while displaying a knife. The teen was able to run away to a nearby apartment. One independent witness heard the teen screaming but did not see the suspects or suspect vehicle. Investigators believe the vehicle might have continued eastbound onto Abram Street based upon our interview with the victim.

The man who was driving was described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5'09/140 lbs., 40 years of age with short dark hair.

Investigators have canvassed the area and will continue working the case throughout the night to identify the vehicle and suspects.
