Two Vehicle crash leaves two hospitalized on Interstate 65

The Indiana State Police investigated a crash on October 2, 2015 at 11:10 A.M. that left two Indiana residents injured.
Preliminary investigation by Trooper Kurt Jones revealed that on October 2, 2015 at 11:10 a.m. a 2005 gray Buick SUV, being driven by Lakeisha L Adjake (38) of Indianapolis, Indiana, was driving north on Interstate 65 near Fair Oaks, Indiana. For unknown reasons, the Buick collided with the rear of a 1998 white Peterbuilt semi, being driven by William Veenstra (75) of Lake Village, Indiana, who was also traveling north on Interstate 65. The crash occurred at the 220 mile marker of Interstate 65 northbound. Following the collision the Buick caught fire. Both occupants were able to get free of the vehicle in time to avoid further injury. The driver, and her passenger, Charlie Marlow (45) of East Chicago, Indiana were transported to Franciscan Alliance Hospital of Rensselaer in Jasper County for treatment of injuries sustained during the crash. Both occupants are in stable condition. All northbound lanes of Interstate 65 were closed for firefighting activities and removal of the vehicles. All lanes were reopened at 11:58 a.m.
