Surfside Beach roads clear and passable but caution in area still needed.

As of the last update this morning, all streets in the town limits are open and passable. Drivers should still exercise caution when driving and only make necessary trips as water levels can continue to change with tides and water drainage.

We want to remind the public that surf conditions are still rough and not safe. Swashes are full and flowing at high speeds. The swashes are also carrying storm runoff which can contain chemicals and bacteria so please avoid them and the area around them. Please do not block emergency beach entrances.

Use caution around standing water. Be observant of downed utility lines and exposed electrical boxes. Local wildlife such as snakes and snapping turtles are often displaced by storms so use caution.

Please report any dangerous conditions to your local police and fire department.
