Please be advised the City has declared a 2pm early release to allow staff safe commute home before the rising tide which peaks at 4:18pm.  We are expecting 5.7' at the crest which is very close to the 6' experienced Friday.  As we saw during Friday's tide, many areas throughout the city became islands and cars were trapped or stalled in flood waters.

Along with costly repairs which could be a result from driving in flood waters, there are health risks associated with playing in the water.  Go to http://www.norfolk.gov/DocumentCenter/View/22845 for details.
