On September 18, 2015 at approximately 3:00 a.m. the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department responded to Dutchess Community College for a report by a student of an alleged sexual assault that took place earlier in the night. It was determined that the incident took place at an off campus residence on Fairview Avenue.

A subsequent investigation revealed that a 19 year old female was sexually assaulted by three male subjects. All three of the male defendants have been identified and arrested by the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department.

The first defendant, arrested on 10/01/15, is Tyler Bryant, Age 20, of 150 Glenwood Avenue, Yonkers, N.Y. Bryant was charged with Rape, 1st degree, Class B/Felony. The second defendant, arrested on 10/02/15, is Rene F. Hernandez, Age 22 of 6141 Broadway Street, Apt. 3A, Bronx, N.Y. Hernandez was charged with Rape, 1st degree, Class B/Felony. The third defendant, arrested on 10/06/15, is Joel Abelardo Herrera, Age 20, of 11 Amackassin Terrace, Yonkers, N.Y. Herrera was charged with Criminal Sexual Act, 1st degree, Class B/Felony.

Tyler Bryant, Rene Hernandez and Joel Herrera were arraigned before Judge Stephan Krakower. All defendants were remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash / $200,00 bond.

Tyler Bryant and Rene Hernandez were scheduled to reappear in Town Justice Court on October 6, 2015. Joel Herrera is scheduled to reappear in Town Justice Court on October 7, 2015.
