On October 7, at approximately 3:15 PM, Davis officers responded to El Macero to assist the Yolo County Sheriff's Department. A deputy sheriff interrupted a residential burglary and saw a subject fleeing the area towards the open field to the east. Davis PD officers arrived to assist and later received information about two subjects seen running along the trail at the eastern city limits near Marden and Dresbach. A perimeter was established and a search was conducted with the help of a K9 as well as an allied agency's helicopter. The subjects were not located.
