Change of Command at Pico Rivera Sheriff's Station
Captain Allen Castellano is departing Pico Rivera Sheriff's Station and transferring to Lakewood Station, effective Sunday, October 11, 2015. Replacing Captain Castellano is Captain Patrick Valdez. Captain Valdez has been the Operations Lieutenant at Pico Rivera Station for the past 2 years. He has promoted to captain and will remain as the new Unit Commander.
Captain Valdez brings 29 years of law enforcement experience to his new command. He has worked throughout the county at various patrol and detective assignments including Pico Rivera Station, Major Crimes Bureau, and Norwalk Station. In fact, Captain Valdez started his career as an explorer scout at Pico Rivera Station in 1983. In 1992, he transferred to Pico Rivera Station, where he worked as a patrol deputy, a field training officer, the Problem Specific Policing Team, and as an Operations Safe Streets Detective. Captain Valdez is truly grateful to be given the command of the station he considers "home"!
Captain Castellano is grateful for all of the community support Pico Rivera Station and the deputies assigned there have received during his tenure as Unit Commander. He is also thankful for the continued support of 4th District Supervisor Don Knabe and his staff, as well as the Pico Rivera City Council.
