The Rinks – Lakewood Ice Shows Their Appreciation to LASD and all First Responders
On Thursday, October 8, 2015, “The Rinks – Lakewood Ice” invited Lakewood Station personnel to attend a hockey game and drop the first puck. The ceremonial puck drop kicked off the home opener for the Long Beach Bombers. Lakewood Ice is home to the Long Beach Bombers, who play in the Western States Hockey League.
Deputy John Maranan, a member of the Lakewood Special Assignment Team, was chosen for the honors in the game against the Fresno Monsters. The deputies were very humbled by the positive recognition they received, and embrace any opportunity for positive interaction with the community, by participating in events such as this. The home team opened scoring with a goal in the first period, but ultimately fell to the Monsters in a 3-1 loss.
Lakewood Sheriff’s Station provides law enforcement services to the cities of Lakewood, Bellflower, Paramount, Hawaiian Gardens, Artesia, and unincorporated communities in Long Beach and Cerritos.
