Bomb Investigation at Local Gas Station

On October 13, 2015, the Corona Police were called to the ARCO AM/PM Gas Station located at 1402 E. Ontario Avenue in Corona reference a subject stating there are bombs inside his car. The male, later identified as Gentry Lee Goode II, 31-year-old of Chino, was detained at the scene by Corona PD. Goode parked his black Mazda 6 next to the gas pumps and asked the clerk to call 9-1-1. The store manager immediately shut down the store and told customers they had run out of gas, in order to avoid causing a panic.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Hazardous Device Team was called to the scene to assist with the investigation. During the investigation, all streets and businesses surrounding the gas station were closed to traffic as a safety precaution. No bombs or explosive making devices were located inside Goode’s car. The streets and businesses were reopened to traffic at about 11:45 a.m. Goode was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance and later transported to the Riverside County Medical Center-Emergency Treatment Services (ETS) for a 72-hour mental evaluation.
