New location for Novato's Community Wildfire Protection Plan meeting on Thursday, October 15th.

The meeting will be held at the Novato City Hall, located at 901 Sherman Avenue, and will start at 6:00p.m.

What is a Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP)?
A CWPP serves as a framework to prioritize future wildfire hazard protection, develop actions to reduce structural ignitability, and identify and prioritize potential fuel treatment, hazard mitigation, and restoration projects.

What can I expect at the public meeting?
Our team of wildfire scientists, fire officials, public land managers, and community volunteers will present the current state of wildfire science in Marin, and facilitate discussion and input to identify and prioritize potential projects.

The Novato Fire District, the Marin County Fire Department and FIRESafe MARIN seek to work with the public and stakeholders to
identify areas of hazard and concern, and to work collaboratively to develop wildfire hazard mitigation solutions and guidelines that will be documented in an updated CWPP.
