Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter reports a Chaffee couple and man arrested on Possession of a Forging Instrument and Drug Charges.
Anthony Sagers (30) of 279 County Highway 209, Chaffee, Missouri has been charged with the Class C Felony of Possession of a Forging Instrument, the Class C Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance (x3), the Class A Misdemeanor of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and numerous Traffic Violations.
Jessica Sagers (30) of 279 County Highway 209, Chaffee, Missouri has been charged with the Class C Felony of Possession of a Forging Instrument, the Class C Felony of Possession of a Controlled Substance, and the Class A Misdemeanor of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Jason Weaver (40) of 1512 North Frisco, Chaffee, Missouri has been charged with the Class C Felony of Possession of a Controlled Substance and the Class A Misdemeanor of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Sheriff Walter states that on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 detectives were conducting an undercover operation outside of Chaffee. An undercover deputy went to a location to meet with Anthony Sagers and Weaver about selling them narcotic prescription pills. Anthony Sagers drove up in a vehicle. Anthony Sagers and Weaver got out and discussed the price they wanted to pay for the pills. Sagers and Weaver then bought the pills from the undercover deputy.
After purchasing the pills from the undercover deputy, Sheriff Walter and deputies moved in and arrested Anthony Sagers and Weaver. Deputies located a glass pipe in Sagers’ vehicle. It tested positive for methamphetamine.
Deputies then went to Sagers’ residence on County Highway 209. Deputies received permission to search the residence.
Jessica Sagers was inside the residence. Located in the bed that Jessica Sagers had been laying in were a cut straw, a mirror, and a set of scales. Some of the items had white residue on them and tested positive for methamphetamine.
All of the subjects were placed under arrest and were transported to the Scott County jail to be processed. They were booked pending the filing of formal charges by the Scott County Prosecuting Attorney.
On Thursday, October 15, 2015 detectives interviewed Jessica Sagers reference making and possessing counterfeit money and equipment to make the counterfeit money. After her Miranda Warning was read to her she agreed to speak with them. Sagers also gave permission for detectives to look through her cellular telephone.
Detectives located a photograph on the phone of (4) $20 bills that all had the same serial number. Detectives then located another photograph with more $20 bills with the same serial number as the prior photograph.
Sagers stated she was not making any counterfeit money, but a “friend” had been coming over and making the money. Sagers admitted to getting some of the counterfeit money and using it in Chaffee.
Located on the Sagers’ property was a printer and paper used to make the counterfeit money.
Anthony and Jessica Sagers remains in custody at the Scott County Jail. Bond was set by the court at $5,000.00 cash or surety. Weaver’s bond was set by the court at $5,000.00 cash or surety originally, but has been reduced to $2,500.00 cash or surety by the courts.
