Antelope Valley, West Lake Storm Closure Information.
LANCASTER, CA – Due to the cooperation of the California Highway Patrol, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Los Angeles County Fire Department, and Department of Public Works working together, most of the roads impacted by yesterday’s storm in the Antelope Valley will reopen at 8:00PM on Friday, October 16, 2015.
Captain Gretchen M. Jacobs of the California Highway Patrol stated the roads will reopen to residents only with identification. Residents are asked to have the photo identification readily available to provide to law enforcement. CHP officers and LASD deputies will be standing by at the below listed roadways to verify residency and escort residents through the affected areas. The roads will remain open subject to roadway and weather conditions.
The re-openings are for the following:
1. Elizabeth Lake Road at the intersection with Godde Hill Road to San Francisquito Canyon Road.
2. Bouquet Canyon Road from Spunky Canyon Road to Elizabeth Lake Road.
3. San Francisquito Road from Spunky Canyon Road to Elizabeth Lake Road.
4. Elizabeth Lake Road from Johnson Road to Lake Hughes Road.
The following road closures remain in effect:
1. Munz Ranch Road from Elizabeth Lake Road to Lancaster Road.
2. Lake Hughes Road from Dry Gulch Road to Elizabeth Lake Road.
3. Elizabeth Lake Road at the intersection with Godde Hill Road to City Ranch Road.
Residents are advised to park their vehicles on their properties to keep the roadway clear for emergency responders as well as County work crews. Vehicles parked on the roadway in the path of emergency responders and work crews are subject to tow.
