Investigative Supervisor and Noble County Resident Retires After 28 Year Career
(Fort Wayne, IN)-The Indiana State Police in Fort Wayne has announced the retirement of Noble County resident Sergeant Kathy J. Robbins following a career that spanned almost 28 years.
Robbins, who is a native of rural Albion, is a 1980 graduate of Central Noble High School. She was accepted to the 45th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy in the summer of 1987 and was appointed to the Department on December 19, 1987. She was assigned to patrol duties at the Toll Road post and in 1990, she transferred to the Fort Wayne post and assumed patrol duties in both LaGrange and Noble Counties.
In October of 1992, Robbins was reassigned as a Detective and in 1997, she was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and became the Criminal Investigative Squad Leader at the Fort Wayne Post. During her career Robbins served as a member of the Tactical Intervention Platoon and also as a Hostage Negotiator. In 2008, Robbins was awarded the Meritorious Service Award for her work on the development of the Department’s active shooter training program. She has a step-son who is a Trooper assigned to the Bremen post and she and her husband are residents of rural Albion.
