Dean Edward Armstrong a 46 year old Cadillac man was arraigned today in 64B District Court on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. He was later released on a $500 bond.

SUBJECT OF RELEASE: Wrong way driver/drunk driving arrest
DATE AND TIME: Approximately 1:45 A.M on Thursday, October 22, 2015
LOCATION: US 131 near mile marker 114, Pierson Township, Montcalm County
On Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 1:45 A.M., a Montcalm County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to US 131 regarding a report of a wrong way driver. The vehicle was located and the driver was arrested.
The report initially came from Meceola Central Dispatch that a vehicle was travelling south in the northbound lane of US 131. The vehicle was described as a dark colored minivan. The Montcalm County Deputy was able to locate the vehicle, a 2000 Dodge, and pulled it over near mile marker 114. The deputy asked the driver to perform a series of dexterity tests and determined the driver to be intoxicated. The driver, a 46 year old man from Cadillac, was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated and was lodged at the Montcalm County Jail where he awaits arraignment.
