Robbery Investigation
On October 22nd, 2015 at about 11:55 am Kern County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a robbery in progress at JJ’s Gold in the 2200 block of Niles Point in east Bakersfield.
When deputies arrived they spoke to the owners of the store. Deputies determined that two suspects entered the store and brandished a firearm. The suspects attempted to steal items of jewelry, and then fled on foot. Witnesses observed the suspects leaving the area in a silver compact vehicle southbound on Niles Point toward Monterey Street.
The suspects were described as:
Black male, 20 years old, 5’7”, wearing a black sweatshirt and jeans
Black male, 5’10”, thin build, wearing a black shirt and brown shorts
During the incident one of the store owners was struck in the head with the firearm and received a minor to moderate injury. It is unknown at this point in the investigation if the suspects obtained any merchandise prior to fleeing the store.
