Between noon and 3:30 PM today a home invasion occurred at a residence in the 600 block of Aspen Lane, Spring Hill Acres. The home is located approximately halfway between Ash Lane and Holly Lane.
A male approached the residence and knocked on the front door; the female resident did not answer the door. Within a couple minutes the female resident heard the male coming through the rear of the residence; he walked toward the front of the home and encountered her in the living room. The subject uttered a name and went upstairs where he stole a jewelry case and a dresser drawer containing cash, passports and personal papers. He then walked back downstairs, made another comment to the resident and walked out the front door with the jewelry case and drawer.
The female resident is 101 years of age and not able to provide much additional information. She did describe him as a white male with a tan complexion wearing a baseball hat. The perpetrator did not approach the resident when he encountered her nor did he attempt to harm her.
Entry to the residence was gained by "shouldering" a rear door and splintering the door jamb. This is the same method of entry used in a residential burglary Monday morning in Northwood Estates, West Cornwall Township.
The perpetrator was inside the residence just long enough to walk upstairs to the bedroom and steal the mentioned items.
