Please DO NOT remove any sanitary sewer clean out caps or plugs in your yard during flooding conditions. If you notice a swirl in the water surface of a flooded area, please call the sewer department 843-883-5733. This could be an open clean out allowing water to enter the sanitary sewer system. This will ultimately, hydraulically, overwhelm the sewer collection system causing sewage to overflow manholes (SSO). In addition, saltwater can harm the biological process at the treatment plant causing effluent violations.
Please help us keep sewage where it belongs, down the drain. Report any suspicious activity.
