Update to Suspicious Behavior at the Winhall Market on 10/25/15:
The person in the photo has been identified.
Based on our investigation, we do not believe this person poses a threat to the community. Thank you all for your concern.

On 10/25/15 at approximately 4:20 PM a male entered the Winhall Market dressed in a camouflage/fur trooper style hat, a neck protector pulled up over his face, goggles over his eyes and winter gloves on his hands (it was 51 degrees at the time). The man was also wearing a dark colored Carhartt sweatshirt and blue jeans. The man walked throughout the store acting as if he was more concerned about the layout of the store than shopping. He looked back at the counter multiple times as he walked around the store and then made a purchase before leaving the store. The male walked down to the Grape Connection Wine Shop parking lot to his vehicle which was described as a brown/rust colored, newer SUV before leaving the area. The man was described as being in his 20's, 6'1" tall and slender.

We later learned that the same individual had been in the Seven Eleven across the street and did not make a purchase while he was in the store.

At this time we do not have any information that this person has committed a crime but his behavior and dress is suspicious and was alarming to the store employees. If you have any information related to this incident please contact the WInhall PD at 802-297-2121.

Always be aware of your surroundings and immediately report suspicious behavior to the WInhall PD.
