There has been a recent uptick in the rate of thefts of pickup truck tailgates. These are easy to steal if they aren't locked and they are expensive to replace. You can do two things to reduce the likelihood of this happening to you or a neighbor. First, lock your tailgate if at all possible. Second, be alert to trucks driving slowly in your neighborhood without a tailgate. If you see one and it looks suspicious call the Upland Police Department at (909) 982-1331 to report it. Remember, just because a truck doesn't have a tailgate doesn't mean the driver is up to no good but it is worth watching out for.
