Inspect all Halloween candy for possible tampering. Please see full message for details.
The Sonoma Police Department received a single report of a razor blade found in a candy bar that was amongst a child’s Halloween candy. While inspecting his candy, the child noticed that the packaging had an opening and saw the razor. He was not injured. The candy was given to the child while trick-or-treating in the northwest area of Sonoma.
This incident is being investigated by the Sonoma Police Department and at this time appears to be isolated. The Sonoma Police would like to remind everyone to thoroughly examine their children’s candy and to report anything they suspect to have been tampered with to the Sonoma Police Department by calling (707) 996-3602 or 9-1-1 if it’s an emergency.
