WRPD SEEKS INFORMATION ABOUT MISSING/STOLEN ANTIQUE PAPER MACHINE FRAME
The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department needs your help locating an antique paper machine that was being stored in a warehouse and has either been misplaced or stolen. This is reported to be one of the first paper coating machines used in Wisconsin Rapids for the commercial paper industry. The designated area inside of the warehouse where it was stored in Wisconsin Rapids was discovered to have been cleaned out without the knowledge of the owners of the machine. Some pieces including the large rollers were later recovered in a salvage yard in Green bay and were returned, but the large frame that displays “Beloit Iron Works” has not been located. The photos show the assembled machine. This could have occurred within the last one to two years.
Because it is such a unique piece and due to its size and weight, it just didn’t walk off by itself. We are attempting to gather information from anyone who has knowledge of its current whereabouts or who might know where it was taken. Please call the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department via the Wood County Dispatch Center at 715-421-8764
