Arrest Made After #LASD Homicide Investigation of Teen Shooting Death, Bellflower
LASD Homicide detectives have arrested 33 year-old Jesus Chavez in connection with the October 31st, 2015 shooting death of a juvenile who was standing in front of a location in the 16100 block of Bellflower Blvd, in Bellflower.
Homicide detectives have learned that at approximately 10:45pm on Saturday, October 31, 2015, the victim was standing in front of the location when a vehicle drove up and a suspect inside the vehicle began shooting at the victim. The suspect vehicle then fled the scene, Northbound on Bellflower Boulevard and out of view. The victim, who was struck multiple times by gunfire, was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Jesus Chavez, a Hispanic male who frequents the Bellflower area, was located during the early morning hours of November 2, 2015 and taken into custody without incident.
The suspect was booked for murder at Lakewood Sheriff’s Station and is being held in lieu of one million dollars bail.
