11/3/15, press release - Sale/Possession of "Crack" Cocaine
On November 3rd, 2015 the Burlington Police Department Narcotics Unit in conjunction with the DEA Burlington, VT Resident Office arrested Gregory W. Lewis, 20 YOA, of Fall River, MA for sale and possession of “crack” cocaine.
Lewis was under investigation as he was trafficking “crack” cocaine from Massachusetts to the State of Vermont. Investigators executed an enforcement plan during which Lewis’ vehicle was stopped in the area of North Willard St. and Henry St. where he was taken into custody for sale of “crack” cocaine. At the time of his arrest, Lewis was in possession of one ounce of “crack” cocaine which was packaged in fractional gram quantities for distribution.
At the time of his arrest, Lewis was accompanied by Justin C. Revoredo, 24 YOA, of Fall River, MA and Abdi Sharif, 18 YOA, of Burlington, VT. Both Revoredo and Sharif were complicit in the distribution of “crack” cocaine and found in possession of the drug, which was also packaged in fractional gram quantities.
Lewis and Revoredo were lodged at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility on $25,000.00 and will be arraigned on 11-4-15 in Chittenden Superior Court – Criminal Division. Lewis is facing charges of Sale or Cocaine (felony) and Possession of Cocaine (felony). Revoredo is facing the charge of Possession of Cocaine (felony). Lewis’ criminal history shows felony arrests and weapons offenses in the State of Massachusetts. Revoredo’s criminal history includes misdemeanor arrests in the State of Massachusetts. Sharif was issued a Citation to appear in Chittenden Superior Court – Criminal Division on November 19th, 2015 for the charge of Possession of Cocaine(misdemeanor).
A person knowingly and unlawfully possessing cocaine in an amount consisting of 2.5 grams or more shall be imprisoned not more than five years or fined not more than $100,000.00, or both. A person knowingly and unlawfully selling cocaine shall be imprisoned not more than five years or fined not more than $100,000.00, or both.
Cocaine and “crack” cocaine is typically sold in half gram and full gram quantities to users for $50 or $100 respectfully. The cocaine seized by investigators has an approximate street value of $4,000. The trio was also in possession of approximately $1,200 US Currency.
