The Plymouth Township Police Department has been receiving more complaints from residents regarding Internal Revenue Service (IRS) telephone scams. The IRS will never contact you by telephone to inform you of tax money owed from previous tax years but will only correspond by certified mail. If you receive any telephone calls claiming the person is an IRS agent from the IRS and there is or will be a warrant issued for your arrest if you do not pay whatever amount the scammer is attempting to collect, please hang up immediately. This is a scam. Thank you!
