Halloween Enforcement Crackdown: 1 DUI arrest, 17 seat belt citations, 1 possession of drug paraphernalia arrest
Montgomery Police Department Releases Halloween Enforcement Crackdown Numbers
(Montgomery, IL) — “The Montgomery Police Department made 1 impaired driving arrest and issued 17 seat belt citations during the recent Halloween Crackdown,” said Deputy Chief Armando Sanders. The impaired DUI arrest and all 17 seat belt citations were issued after 9 p.m., along with the issuance of 3 speeding citations, 2 illegal transportation of alcohol citations, 1 operating uninsured motor vehicle citation, and one possession of drug paraphernalia arrest.
Law enforcement agencies throughout Illinois participated in this effort to save lives by getting impaired drivers off our roads and more people buckled up during the Halloween weekend.
Extra emphasis was given to the late-night hours when statistics show the most people drink and drive and the fewest buckle up.
The recent law enforcement crackdown was funded by federal traffic safety funds through the Illinois Department of Transportation and is part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
