One of our parking enforcement officers came upon a stolen vehicle during street sweeping enforcement. Upon inspecting the vehicle, he discovered that it had a sleeping occupant. Sheriff deputies were called to the scene via his county radio. The Bellflower Special Assignment Officer team responded to the location, where the suspect refused to get out of the vehicle. A barricade was established while the SAO team worked to an eventual surrender of the suspect. The suspect was taken into custody immediately afterward.
