Albion Public Safety (ADPS) Officers and Calhoun County Sheriff's (CCSD) Deputies went to 834 Irwin Ave at 4:30 PM on Monday 11/9/15 after receiving a tip there was possibly methamphetamine being produced there.  While attempting to make contact with the resident, officers spotted what appeared to be meth components in the garage.  A search warrant was obtained for the property and officers found a large quantity of components in out buildings and the house.  Specially trained ADPS Officers and CCSD Deputies spent over 6 hours in hazmat suits searching the property for meth components.  Officers described the quantity of components as one of the largest seizers ever in Calhoun County.  The Calhoun County Health Department has ordered the property vacated.  All hazardous materials were removed from the property by law enforcement.  While meth components can be extremely hazardous there is no public health hazard outside the property it was located on.
