Advisory

NCSO to make uniform change beginning next week on 16th.

As everyone is quite aware, we are well into the 21st Century. During this time, we have seen tremendous growth and change when it comes to technology and how organizations, companies, and businesses operate on a daily basis. Law Enforcement is not exempt from these changes either, and we must also adapt and change with the times as well in order to keep up with the times and trends.

In order for the Nash County Sheriff's Office to continue to serve the people of Nash County with Honor, Compassion, and Diligence, we must learn to evolve and tweak our operations, tactics, and our mindset. Part of that comes from how we look and how we present ourselves to the public.

As mentioned earlier in an article in the RM Telegram, the NCSO is currently in the midst of a uniform change. The NCSO has long been known for its tan colored uniforms, just as many other Sheriff's Offices have in North Carolina. The tan uniform has been the staple of the NCSO for the better part of a century! As mentioned though, we must learn to change and adapt to current times in order to provide more professional service to the people. There are only a handful of Sheriff's Offices in North Carolina who are still wearing the tan, as many of them have already changed uniform designs already and switched to something more in line with the times. The NCSO was one of the last few still remaining.

Beginning, next Monday the 16th, you will no longer see the tan uniforms on a Nash County Deputy. The new uniforms have completely been redesigned and are made from a better quality material than the previous uniforms. This allows the Deputy who is wearing them to be more comfortable while wearing them during their 12 hour shifts.

In the picture below, you will see our new patch that will adorn our new uniforms. The overall design is similar to the old patch, but the color, shape, and lettering are different.

Our uniforms are moving away from the old fashioned tan, to a new updated "bankers gray". This gray color is a dark gray in color, with a charcoal gray pants. Much thought was put into the design and we actually took some of the design from a Sheriff's Office in another state, who was recently awarded one of the Best Dressed Sheriff's Offices in the country. That is exactly what we are looking for as well! To look good in doing our jobs, so that we can represent this agency and the people of Nash County. So be on the lookout for our new look coming next week!!
