PREVIOUS MESSAGE:
On Thursday, November 12, 2015, at approximately 5:51 pm., the Bluffton Police Department received a report of suspicious subjects at 211 Capri Court. Officers responded and discovered the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the apartment. A search warrant was obtained through Wells Circuit Court. Upon execution of the search warrant officers found an active methamphetamine manufacturing site. Bluffton Fire Department and Wells County EMS were summoned to conduct an evacuation of a large portion of the Capri II building which began at approximately 8:00 pm. Many residents were able to stay in the first floor common area of the building. The Indiana State Police Meth Suppression Section was requested at the scene. Once the dangerous fire threat of the meth lab was mitigated the residents of Capri II were allowed to return to their apartments at approximately 10:30 pm. The search warrant was completed and items indicative of drug abuse and manufacturing were seized. Officers remained on scene until approximately 11:30 pm. No suspects were immediately arrested; however, the incident remains under investigation.
