Announces Arrest For:
Felony Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and
Resisting a Public Officer (3 counts)
The Southern Pines Police Department announces the arrest of Christopher Andrew Sharpe, 27 years of age, residing in Southern Pines, North Carolina.
On Thursday, November 12, 2015, at approximately 11:00 pm, a male subject later identified as Christopher Andrew Sharpe made a call to 911 while in a residence in the 300 block of W. Main Avenue in Southern Pines. Christopher Andrew Sharpe reported to the 911 operator that he “needed help” at which time he abruptly hung up the phone. Responding officers located Christopher Andrew Sharpe in an apartment, along with a glass smoking pipe and crack cocaine in plain view. Officers attempted to place Christopher Andrew Sharpe into custody for the narcotics violations, at which time he became combative with the arresting officers. During the ensuing struggle, Christopher Andrew Sharpe grabbed one officer’s firearm and attempted to remove it from the officer’s holster. Once separated from grasping the officer’s holstered firearm, Christopher Andrew Sharpe was placed into custody without further incident. While resisting to the aggression displayed by Christopher Andrew Sharpe, one officer sustained a minor injury.
Christopher Andrew Sharpe has been charged with the following offenses:
1. Felony Possession of Cocaine
2. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
3. Resisting a Public Officer (3 counts)
Christopher Andrew Sharpe appeared before a Moore County Magistrate and was incarcerated in the Moore County Detention Center under a $15,000.00 secured bond pending a hearing in Moore County District Court on November 24, 2105.
