Columbus Man Arrested on Child Pornography Charges
Bartholomew County-Yesterday, the Indiana State Police served a search warrant at a residence located at 604 Fairview Drive, Columbus in reference to a child pornography investigation. As a result of the investigation, Matthew M. Jones, 24, Columbus, was arrested on a charge of possession of child pornography.
The investigation by Indiana State Police detectives began after a tip was received through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children cyber-tipline. Detectives as part of the Indiana Crimes Against Children Task Force executed the warrant with the help from Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Detectives.
A forensic examine was performed on electronic equipment seized at Jones residence which resulted in him being arrested on one count of possession of child pornography, a level six Felony.
