Advisory

Murder Suspect from Stabbing In Custody

The Arlington Police Department responded to an unrelated domestic disturbance at a residence when patrol officers noticed activity that led them to notify our narcotics unit. One of our narcotic’s detectives recognized a vehicle that was similar in nature to the one that was used in a recent homicide based upon a bulletin that had been distributed to employees. While the vehicle ended up being a different car, an interview with the suspect in the narcotics investigation led homicide detectives to the identification and arrest of 46-year-old Pervis Lee Andrews Jr. of Arlington for the fatal stabbing of Dustin McGee on November 8, 2015. Andrews remains in the Arlington Jail on one count of murder with bond initially set at $500,000.

“This is the culmination of excellent police work where observant officers and detectives connected the dots and conducted a thorough investigation in order to remove this dangerous suspect from our streets,” said Police Chief Will Johnson.

Here is the original news release posted on November 8, 2015:

The Arlington Police Department responded to a restaurant parking lot around 2:15 a.m. on Sunday, November 8, 2015 in the 200 block of Lincoln Square in reference to a person who reported they were stabbed. Investigators believe that there was some type of altercation in the parking lot between the victim and a suspect. At some point during this encounter, the suspect produced a knife and stabbed the victim once in the chest.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and was pronounced deceased a short time later. Detectives have interviewed a witness and processed the crime scene. Investigators are canvassing the businesses in that area to determine if any video exists or other witnesses who may have saw what happened.

The suspect is described as a black man in his 40’s to 50’s, approximately 6’ tall, weighing around 250 lbs. He is further described as having dark skin complexion, unshaven and was wearing small frame glasses. The suspect’s car is described as a silver or light gray, late model 90’s or early 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis or a Ford Crown Victoria 4-door passenger car. The vehicle had a blue vinyl roof and contained wire rims that come together in the middle of the wheel and protrude out approximately 5 inches.
