Pleasantville Man Arrested For Multiple Vehicle Burglaries
On Tuesday November 17th 2015, the Absecon Police Department received numerous calls regarding motor vehicle burglaries on Coolidge Avenue. Victims reported that during the early morning hours of November 17th, their vehicles were entered and personal property was removed. A resident on Coolidge Avenue was able to capture the accused subject on a home surveillance system.
The video footage was viewed by Ptl. April Kolakowski and the description of the accused was relayed to other officers. While investigating a separate case, Detectives Paolo Imberti and Rich Huenke observed a male matching the description of the accused captured in the surveillance video. The accused was arrested on several outstanding warrants and was brought back to police headquarters. It was later discovered that the male was in fact responsible for the burglaries on Coolidge Avenue as well as several burglaries on Pennsylvania Avenue in September of 2015.
Benny J Ward, 28, of Pleasantville was arrested and charged with several counts of burglary, theft and criminal mischief. He was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility in lieu of $40,500 bail.
