Benton teen arrested for possessing firearm and drugs at school
BENTON, MISSOURI - Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter said a Benton teen has been arrested for possessing a firearm and drugs on school property.
Landon M. Urhahn (18) Benton has been charged with unlawful use of a weapon, possession of marijuana, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
Walter said Wednesday; numerous students were involved in a verbal argument at Kelly School as the result of an assault incident that took place off school property several days prior. During the argument, Urhahn reportedly made a statement about having a firearm in his vehicle at the school. School officials were made aware of the comment and immediately contacted the Sheriff’s Office for assistance. Officers with the Sheriff’s Office, working with school officials did locate a 9MM handgun with ammunition in Urhahn’s vehicle. Walter said a substance believed to be marijuana and drug paraphernalia was also located during the search.
Walter said Urhahn has been released from custody on a $2,500 cash bond to appear in court December 16, 2015.
