Pico Rivera Deputies Save Suicidal Man
On Friday, November 20th, at 0920 am, Pico Rivera Deputies responded to an attempt suicide call on the 9300 block of Wampler Street in Pico Rivera. A male adult became despondent and attempted to hang himself from a telephone pole on the south side of Wampler Street. A family member tried to intervene and called 911. Upon the deputies’ arrival, they found the man hanging from an electrical cord tied to the pole. They quickly climbed the telephone pole and lifted the man up, preventing his death. Deputies cut the noose from his neck and carried him down from the pole. He was subsequently treated and transported by LACO Fire to a hospital in serious but stable condition.
