Subject Arrested for Carrying a Loaded Concealed Firearm In Sausalito
On Saturday, 11-21-15, at 3:26 PM, Corporal Matthew Shoup and Sergeant Bill Fraass were patrolling in downtown Sausalito when they saw Nunzio ALIOTO (51 year old Sausalito resident) walking in the 700 block of Bridgeway. They both recognized ALIOTO from numerous pervious contacts. The Sausalito Police Department received a report a few days earlier that ALIOTO had recently been using narcotics and was in possession of a handgun.
ALIOTO was stopped for violating Sausalito’s City Ordinance requiring dogs be on a leash when being walked in public. Officers investigation quickly determined that ALIOTO was in possession of a handgun and he was quickly disarmed and taken into custody even though he attempted to physically struggle with officers.
ALIOTO was in possession of a semi-automatic .380 Llama that was loaded. ALIOTO was carrying the firearm with its safety off. A search incident to arrest located additional ammunition on ALIOTO as well as a pipe used to smoke narcotics.
ALIOTO was booked into Marin County Jail for the following charges:
25850(a) PC – Carrying Loaded Firearm
25400(a)(2) PC- Carrying a Concealed Firearm
148(a) PC- Obstruct/Resist Officers
11364(a) HS – Possession of Narcotics Paraphernalia
