Lafayette State Police Post To Conduct Sobriety Checkpoint
Tippecanoe County—The Lafayette District of the Indiana State Police will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint at an undisclosed location in Tippecanoe County during the late evening hours of Wednesday, November 25, 2015.
Drivers should have their operator’s license and vehicle registrations available for a quick review. Passing through the checkpoint should only take two to three minutes.
To ensure traffic safety on our roadways, the Indiana State Police offer the following safety tips:
- Do not drink and drive
- Use a designated driver
- If hosting a party or large gathering, offer non-alcoholic beverages and ensure a safe ride home for those who have consumed alcohol
- Friends don’t let friends drive impaired
- If you suspect a drunk driver, dial 911
The Indiana State Police will routinely use saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints to ensure traffic safety and combat impaired driving.
